Aug 13, 2011 Original Fort Survey Cornerstone Markers

Boy Scout Brandon Jaggi has been working on an extensive Eagle project of preserving the cornerstone markers of the original Fort Boundaries. The Southeast corner is in the Lonetree area, the Southwest marker is in the Meeks Cabin Dam area, the Northeast marker is in the Church Butte area, and the Northwest marker is in the Fort Bridger Airport vicinity.  With the help of local historians (Mike & Joe Hickey), Brandon has located all four markers and preserved three of the cornerstones.  The fourth marker in the northwest had deteriorated past the point of repair.  Brandon is going to replace that marker with a new stone, cut and marked in the specifications of the original marker.  The ceremony for this planting of the new marker will take place onAugust 13th at 11:00 a.m.
