The first schoolhouse building in the state of Wyoming was built in 1860 at the military Fort Bridger. Historically, public education has played a major role for the citizens in Bridger Valley.
Today there are two K-12 school districts that provide quality education for the children in the valley. Uinta County School District No. 4 serves Mountain View and Fort Bridger area and Uinta County School District No. 6 serves Lyman and its surrounding rural areas.
